
Andrii Lasikov is a Student-at-Law at P2 Regulatory Solutions in Calgary, where he brings several years of international and Canadian legal experience. Andrii's practice covers all aspects of energy regulatory law, such as rates and facilities applications, appeals, and environmental claims, including allegations of greenwashing. His particular focus is on electricity market issues, based on his background in law and economics. Andrii assists with applications and filings before regulatory authorities at both the provincial and federal levels, as well as with proceedings before Canadian courts. His work involves preparing regulatory submissions, supporting counsel in hearings, and conducting in-depth legal research on jurisdictional and policy issues in the energy sector and in environmental and Aboriginal law.
Before commencing his articles, Andrii worked at a boutique immigration law firm in Calgary, where he assisted individuals and businesses with a wide range of immigration matters.
Earlier in his career, Andrii was an in-house counsel at DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company. In this role, he focused on merger clearances, foreign direct investment approvals, and regulatory compliance across multiple European jurisdictions. He supported the company in managing competition law risks in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy projects, and played an active role in competition advocacy and compliance initiatives. Andrii also practiced as an associate at leading Ukrainian law firms, where he represented clients in competition investigations and merger clearance transactions in a wide range of areas, including energy, agriculture, mineral fertilizers, FMCG, and others.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Economics (EMLE program) through a joint program of the University of Hamburg, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and the University of Vienna.
Andrii is fluent in Ukrainian and has bilingual proficiency in English and Russian.
